Experienced Lecturer, Presenter, Public Speaker

I am an accomplished public speaker, presenter and lecturer and I have always had a deep passion for teaching. In 2003, I began my accounting career as an Associate Lecturer at the University of Witwatersrand, where I conducted a number of lectures and tutorials to students in the Accounting stream.

Following the completion of my accountant’s training contract in 2005, I immediately moved into KPMG’s Learning and Development team. Here I spent a very happy 18 months, as an accredited presenter, presenting technical (auditing) and soft skills courses to a wide range of professionals. It was during this time that I attended a Dale Carnegie workshop on Presentation Skills, for which I was further accredited.

I left Learning and Development solely to develop and hone my corporate finance skills, but it was not long before the call to teaching sounded again. During 2012, I took up the role of Senior Lecturer at the University of Witwatersrand. In addition to being course-coordinator, I was also responsible for lecturing, tutoring, setting exams, and developing study material for the highly-technical, postgraduate “Financial Accounting IV” course.

Despite stepping away from academia to focus on developing my commercial skills, I retained an interest in public speaking. In 2010, my good friend and I conceived “G Mac Entertainment”, a pub quiz entertainment business. For almost 10 years we rolled out highly popular quiz evenings at a prominent local Johannesburg restaurant until the fall-out of COVID forced us to put our business temporarily on hold.
